Steve Sharpe

–

Bellevue, Ohio

Steven Lee Sharpe, 69 of Bellevue, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, Ohio, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was surrounded by his family as the Lord called him home. He was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on December 20, 1956, to Richard and Carolyn (Valentine) Sharpe. Following his graduation from Tiffin Columbian High School, Steve pursued his passion of working in the agricultural industry, particularly with dairy cattle, and driving his beloved Peterbilt semi truck.

Steve married the love of his life and best friend, Debra (Slingwine) Sharpe, on August 29, 1987, and celebrated 39 beautiful years of marriage before his passing. Steve and Debbie have three children: Aaron, Shilee, and Cyleen. If there was anything Steve loved more than farming, it was his family. Steve had an off-the-wall sense of humor that could make anyone raise their eyebrows or bring out a laugh with his quick wit.

Steve and Debbie raised their children on a small family dairy farm in Bellevue, Ohio, where they milked a herd of Holsteins, Steve's favorite breed of dairy cattle.

In addition to his own dairy farm, some of Steve's greatest joys included traveling around Ohio with his family to visit other dairy farms and county fairs, attending NTPA tractor pulls to watch Modified Tractors, and watching Funny Cars drag race at the Summit Raceway in Norwalk with his son, Aaron. Steve was an avid farm toy collector and amassed a large John Deere collection that he took great pride in.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Bellevue; son, Aaron Sharpe of Bellevue; daughter, Shilee (Nathan Giles) of Willard; daughter, Cyleen (Kaleb Robertson) of Clyde; mother-in-law, Katie (Tom) Slingwine of Clyde; sister, Louann (Larry) Reinhart of Fostoria; brother-in-law, Gene (Carol) Kuhn of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Karen (Paul) Pelton of Bellevue; sister-in-law, Amy (Todd) Nagel of Attica; sister-in-law, Gail (Richard) Channing of Clyde; brother-in-law, Marc (Erika) Slingwine of Republic; niece, Nicki (Derrick) Schreiner of New Riegel; nephew, Randy (Penny) Kuhn of Tiffin; nephews, Steve Reinhart of Tiffin and Tyler (Taylor) Reinhart of Tiffin; and various nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whom he always enjoyed spending time with at family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara "Sis" Kuhn; uncle, Jim Sharpe; and father-in-law, Richard Slingwine.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10am, Saturday, November 7, 2026 at St Mary Catholic Church, 609 Vine Street, Clyde, Ohio where family and friends will gather at 9:30am. A luncheon and celebration of life will follow in the parish hall. Memorial contributions in honor of Steve may be directed to his family.

Steve's family would like to extend gratitude to his ICU nurses at Firelands, Nate and Liz who went above and beyond in his final days to help Steve and his family during his transition to be as comfortable and peaceful as possible. Additional gratitude is extended to Auxter-Recker Funeral Home and Deacon Jose Zamora of Clyde St Mary Church for all of their assistance with services.
