Sandra Magyar

Sandy Magyar of Bellevue passed away April 5, 2012 at home. She was born January 22, 1945 to Thelma (Petersen) and Robert Latham and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1963. She lived on the family farm in Bellevue most of her life. On March 25, 1985 she married Mike Magyar. For many years she and her late husband owned and operated Magyar Drywall and Painting, Inc. Horses were part of her life since childhood. In 1989, Sandy and her daughter began breeding and showing miniature horses and Mike maintained the farm. She was considered a caring friend amongst the circle of horse owners in the area; always willing to offer her help and advice. In 1998, she helped form the Northern Ohio Miniature Horse Club, was elected twelve years as the president, and was serving as the current president. Sandy shared her love of horses with farm tours, parades, and other public events. Her greatest joy was caring for her late husband and daughter. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Elly Magyar of Bellevue; stepson, Michael (Amy) Magyar, Jr. of West Newton, PA; five granddaughters; several cousins; her mother-in-law, Verna (Biro) Magyar of Bellevue; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sandy's husband, Mike Magyar preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2011. Her aunt, Ruth (Petersen) Dahnke; cousin, Harold Dahnke; father-in-law, William Magyar; and sister-in-law, Harriet Connelly also preceded her in death. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held for her family and friends at the farm on Saturday, April 14 from 2-5pm.
