Rolland K. Drown, Sr. Obituary (1946

Rolland K. Drown, Sr. of Green Springs, died at Riverview Nursing Home, Oak Harbor, Ohio on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Rolland was born in Fremont on August 20, 1946 to the now deceased Mary Louise (Bordner) and Robert Drown. He attended Green Springs School. Mr. Drown was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont. He enjoyed anything to do with planes, he had been a pilot and a crop duster, having worked at the former Griffin Flying Service. Rolland had served in the Marine Corps. On September 12, 1969, he married Jacqueline Watruba. She survives. A daughter, Rhonda (Jake) Sumpter of Texas, as well as six grandchildren, Tyler (Alivia) Drown, Cody Drown, Katelyn Drown (Brady Smith); Jake A. Sumpter, Jeffery Sumpter and Wyatt Sumpter also survive. Two great grandchildren, Brooks and Kinsley Smith survive as well. Three sisters, Patricia Drown of Green Springs, Pamela (Fred) Wolff of Republic and Loretta (Mark) Danford of Colorado are living also. Mr. Drown was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Baker and a son, Rolland Drown, Jr. along with a brother, Ed Drown and sister, Raedeana Little. Visitation will be on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Smith Road Fremont on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 11:30 am. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde with military graveside provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion.
