Rex Moore

–

Bellevue, Ohio

Rex Leland Moore, 91, of Clyde, Ohio, passed away at 6:00pm May 22, 2026. Born in Alpharetta, Kentucky, on April 11, 1935, Rex had a life that was as full and vibrant as his personality. Rex served with Ford Motor Company in Sandusky for 31 years before he retired in 1992. His resilience and dedication were evident in his work, but it was his wit and humor that left a lasting impression on his family and friends.

Rex was a funny man who loved to share his joy for life with others. His hobbies reflected his love for nature and his creative spirit. An avid hunter and fisher, Rex also had a passion for beekeeping and woodworking. His love for his family was unquestionable, and his faith as a member of the Harvest Temple in Clyde was the cornerstone of his life. As a devout Christian, Rex deeply believed in the verse from Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." His greatest wish was for his family to find salvation in their faith as he did.

Rex is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mable M. (Collins) Moore of Clyde, Ohio; his sons, Rocky Moore, David (Tema) Moore, and Gary (Oralia) Moore; his daughters, Jane (Tim) Seekford, Karen (Luis) Wilhelm, Melody (Greg) Fellhauer, and Brenda (Troy) Moore; and his step-son, Wayne (Abbey) Holskey, son-in-law, Rick Simon; 22 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Grace (Robinson) Moore, and his daughter, Robin Simon.

A Korean War Navy Veteran, Rex was a resilient man who faced life's challenges with strength and optimism.

Visitation will be start at 12 noon, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio, until the funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Wales Corners Cemetery, York Township.
