Montie Dee "Gertrude" Keaton Obituary (1940

Montie Dee "Gertrude" Keaton, 83, of Clyde, died on Thursday, January 4,2024 at Promedica Hospital in Fremont. Montie was born on May 6, 1940 to the now deceased Vicie (Roseberry) and Monte Keaton in Portsmouth, Kentucky. He retired, after many years, from the Whirlpool Corp in Clyde where he had been ad tool and die setter. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Keaton was a proud member of the Delorean Club, he and his wife had been able to travel the world on their Goldwing. He was also very happy to do yardwork and hunt in his spare time. On July 16, 1987, he married the former Amelia Gonzales. She, along with children, Mitchell Dee Keaton of Vickery, Rick (Marcy) Garcia of Bellevue; Raul "Lou" Garcia of Findlay; Norma (Dale Bockbrader of Fremont; Sonia Garcia (Sam Abbate) of Fremont; Edna Garcia of Lima and Elsa (Cliff) Schatzman of Loveland, Ohio survive. Fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren survive as well. His special friend form Whirlpool, Chuck Cooley survives in Republic. Montie was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Dee Isaac and Kevin Keaton and grandson, Jordan Patric Garcia. His siblings, William Keaton, Charlene Roe, James Paul Keaton and Don Keaton are all deceased. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. Additional visitation will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:30 am until the service at 12:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery with military rites provided by the Clyde VFW and American Legion. Memorials may be made, if desired, to a Veteran's Organization in his memory.
