Michael R. Smoot

Michael R. Smoot, 72, of Sycamore, Ohio died at Promedica Toledo Hospital on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Mike was born in Tiffin, Ohio on February 21, 1952 to the now deceased Mervin Blaine and Betty (Struck) Smoot.
He was a 1970 graduate of Fremont Ross. For many years he had worked in construction and farming.
Mr. Smoot liked camping, especially with his late wife.
On March 29, 1971, he married Sharon Kay Kilgore. She preceded him in death on February 26, 2024.
Surviving are three daughters, Michelle (Charles R. Ickes of Fremont; Jenny (Jerry) Flynn of Clyde and Tiffany (Tony) King of Green Springs. Eight grandchildren, Brenah (Cory) Rohrbacher, Trey Ickes; Ashleigh (Jordan) Marshall, Bryleigh, Jayleigh; Tanner, Trenton and Tucker King, along with four great grandchildren, Brysleigh, Rhys, Ryver; Quynneth survive as well. One niece, Tanja (Guy) Paul also survives. Two companions, Keeta and Mugsy, his dogs, are missing him, too.
Private family services are being held.
