Marian E. Schrickel

Marian E. Schrickel, 90, formerly of Woodland Place, Clyde, journey of ninety years came to an end on February 22, 2012. Mrs. Schrickel was born in Colby, Ohio on March 18, 1921 to the now deceased Frank and Edith (Bookmyer) Schmitz. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1939 and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had served as President of the Twentieth Century Club; St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society; and had been President and Chaplin of the Clyde High School Alumni Assoc. She had been a member of the Clyde Garden Club; the Sandusky County Democratic Women; and the Townsend Sunshine Farm Women's Club. Marian enjoyed working with the children at St. Mary's School for many years. On January 18, 1941, she married M. Edwin "Ed" Schrickel and he preceded her in death on January 18, 1993. Their children survive; Mary Elaine (David) Vogel of Bellevue; Lynn (Diane) Schrickel of Lake Seneca, Ohio; Teresa (Dean) Pflaumer of Naples, Florida; Ann (Rod) Kerry of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Jim (Beverly) Schrickel of Clyde, and Joan (Terry) Beebe of Clyde. Forty-one grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren, along with her sister, Madeline (James) Weisheit of Clyde also survive. Mrs. Schrickel was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, Joel Meyer; Ellen Schrickel; and Liam Pflaumer, as well as her siblings: Norbert Schmitz; LaMar Schmitz; Ruth DeLuca; and Janet Hohler.
