Kathryn "Katie" Smith

Kathryn "Katie" A. Smith, 80, of Clyde died at her home on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Mrs. Smith was born in Green Springs, Ohio on May 1, 1932 to the now deceased Rudolph and Edith (Drown) Grover. She attended Green Springs Schools.For many years, Katie had worked at the former Peter Echrich Corp in Fremont and retired in 1988. Katie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Clyde. On December 19, 1975, she married Ralph P. Smith and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Belinda (Donald) Logan of Fremont; Suzie Webster, of Elmira, Oregon; and a son, Steve (Nancy) Jones of Fremont. Three stepdaughters, Traci Baylon; Tonia Kanable and Trina Meza all of Lake Wales, Florida. Her daughter-in-law, Kim Jones survives in Fremont. Eighteen grandchildren, Jonathan Ramirez, Jamie Ramirez, Ashley Runion, Joe Jones, Nick Jones, Bobby Jones, Brandon Jones,Aaron Webster, Alysha, Pierce, Todd Smith, Gabriela Pope, Eva Diaz, Devin Baylon, Britni Baylon, William RushingIII, Tifni Bailon and tilar Meza and twenty- seven great grandchildren all survive along with a brother, Truman Grover of Fort Myers, Fla. Katie was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Jones and a son, Tracy Jones a grandson, Bryan Jones and siblings LaVern Grover and Charlotte Taylor. Visitation will be on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 PM at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Sat., April 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Kovach officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery, Clyde. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
