Judith Anne (Hughes) Stiger Obituary (1935

Judith Anne Stiger, 88, of Clyde, died on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. Judy was born on March 4, 1935 in Clyde to Julia L. (Lee) and Thornton Hughes. She was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Clyde High School. Mrs. Stiger was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clyde, where she had been in the choir, a member of the Sisters group and had served on various church committees. She was also a member of the Promedica Hospice choir. Always a caring mother and wife, she also had been a secretary at Terra Community College, retiring in 1996. On February 20, 1954, she married William Stiger. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2002. Survivors include four children, Lenora Stiger of Clyde; David (Elena) Stiger of Livermore, California; Theresa (Terry) Ross of Marcellus, Michigan; and Patricia Stiger (Brenda Boggs) of Corona, California. Thirteen grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, along with her sister, Janet Provenzale of Fremont, also survive. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Charles Schemmel; and her companion of several years, Clyde Gill. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 2:00pm until the service at 4:30 pm at First United Methodist Church, Clyde with the Rev. Amy Ochier officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
