John Eberhard

John Eberhard, 77, of Clyde, died at his home on Sunday, Mar. 17, 2013. Mr. Eberhard was born in Clyde on July 9, 1935 to the now deceased James and Pauline (Kowalk) Eberhard. John graduated from Clyde High School in 1953 and then attended University of Toledo and Firelands. He was a manager in budget and accounting at Whirlpool Corp, where he had worked for thirty-six years, prior to his 1990 retirement. He had formerly served on the Clyde City Council for 12 yrs. ; the Board of Zoning and the Civil Service Committee, as well as being a former member of Kiwanis and the JC's. He had been a Pony League Baseball coach. On June 18, 1955, he married Carol Crotcher, she survives. Their three children, Susan Wilhelm, Fremont; John Eberhard, Clyde and Jerry (Amy) Eberhard, Fremont also survive as do three granddaughters, Melissa Wilhelm; Chrysten Eberhard and Micaela Eberhard. Mr. Eberhard was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Burke. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 3-7:00 PM at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde. The funeral will be on Wed., March 20, 2013 at 1:30 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Lees officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer or American Heart Association.
