Imogene Adkins

Imogene Adkins, 87, of Fremont, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at her home.

The daughter of William Brummett and Mossie Brummett Cottrell, Imogene was born on February 17, 1939, in Wofford Ky.

She retired from Eaton Controls after 25+ years of service. She was also a member of The Fremont Church of Christ.

Imogene married James Arthur Adkins on July 29, 1978. They spent 48 yrs building a very good life together. She was preceded in death by her parents, children, Terry Wayne Mitchell, Leigh Katrina Adkins, grandchildren, Joshua Jordan Adkins and Jordon Matthew Adkins, and siblings Herman Brummett, Edward Brummett, Opal Fay Cannon, Doris Wilson, and Matthew Brummett.

In addition to her husband, left to honor her memory, are her children, Chuck (Cindy) Mitchell, Larry Lane Mitchell, John (Priscilla) Adkins, and Marla (David) Smith, brothers, Frank Brummett and Dan Brummett, 14 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Per Imogene’s request, a private graveside service will take place in her honor in Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
