Helene M. "Peggy" (Waugh) Mcconnell Obituary (1932

Helene M. "Peggy" McConnell, 92, of Clyde, died at her home on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Helene was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 24, 1932 to the now deceased Mary Helene (Mohn) and Frank Ramsey Waugh. She was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Fremont Ross High School. On October 4, 1952, she married Edward A. McConnell. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2005. Mrs. McConnell was a devoted member of Clyde Christian Church. She was musical, playing the piano and flute, as well as having been the Children's Choir director at the Presbyterian Church. Peggy was an excellent baker, known especially for her cookies! She enjoyed celebrations, birthdays, holidays, etc. Her real joy was being with her family at ANY time. Surviving Mrs. McConnell are six children, Peggy Ann (Rob) Meisner of Holland, Ohio; Edward "Ed", Jr. (Donna) McConnell of Sylvania; Cindy (Larry) Clapp of Clyde; Barb (Jim) Parkhurst and Karen (Carl) Schwochow all of Fremont and Roger (Alma) McConnell of Dearborn, Michigan. Fourteen grandchildren along with 47 great grandchildren also survive. Her sister, Shirley (Ed) Carlson of Port Clinton, as well as two sisters-in-law, Diana Waugh of Waterville and Jean Wolfe of Findlay. Two siblings, Marjorie Schwochow and Gary Waugh are deceased. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 -8:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde, Ohio. The funeral will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 10:30 am at The Clyde Christian Church, Main St., Clyde. Burial will be in Fireside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Clyde Christian Church or to Stein Hospice.
