Geoffrey Michael "Mike" Craig Obituary (1945

Geoffrey Michael "Mike" Craig, 67, of Fremont, died at Elmwood at the Springs, Green Springs. Mike was born in Fremont, Ohio on March 12, 1945 to Roy L. and M. Louise (Young) Craig. He graduated from Green Springs High School in 1963 and had retired in 2005 from the Whirlpool Corp. Mr. Craig was an US Navy Seabee veteran, having served two tours in Viet Nam receiving two Bronze Stars. He enjoyed attending the SCRAP events and restoring farm machinery as well as his visits to Las Vegas and other casinos. Mike was a member of the VFW in Fremont; the Green Springs American Legion and the Eagles. Mike is survived by his mother, Louise, in Green Springs; siblings, Marcia (Jon) Abbott, Tiffin; Linda (Tom) Dickman), Fremont; Frederick (Chris) Craig, Fremont and Lou Anne Craig, Castalia; four nieces and seven nephews;and his former wife, Carolyn (Askins) Craig, Green Springs. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, John J. "Tuna" Craig in 2011. It was Mike's wish to donate his body to science. A family and military service will be held at a later date at Green Springs Cemetery.
