Floyd Morton "Mort" Palm Obituary (1928

Floyd Morton "Mort" Palm, 84, Sandusky, formerly, rural Bellevue, died at Firelands Regional Medical Center, on Sat., Aug. 17, 2013. "Mort" was born in Green Springs, Ohio on Dec. 15, 1928 to Floyd Russell and Dorothy Jane (Howey) Palm. He attended Green Springs High School through 11th grade, then graduated in 1947 from the former York High School. He enjoyed gardening; farming, all outdoor activities; big band music; photography and reading. In 1988, he retired from the N&S Railroad, after 40 years of service. On March 28, 1948, he married Wanda Karnes, she survives, as do their children, Roger (Dorothy) Palm, Gibsonburg; Jon (Diantha) Palm, Lorain and Suzette (George) Rubel, Bellevue. Nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive. His sister, Jan Jones of Evansville, Ind; and sister-in-law, ClaraBelle (Richard) Mengus, Claraton,Pa. survive as well. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Wed., August 21, 2013 from 11:00 PM until the service at 1:00 PM at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott McCutcheon and Rev. Paul Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in York Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel or Columbus Ave. United Methodist Church, Sandusky or Bellevue Library.
