Evelyn Ethel (Downing) Dalton Obituary (1932

Evelyn Ethel (Downing) Dalton, 84, of Vickery, passed away on June 21, 2016 surrounded by her three children. She was born June 7, 1932 in Sandusky Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Viola (Neidler) Downing. Evelyn graduated in 1950 as Salutatorian of her class from Townsend High School in Vickery. She was a member of St. Mary Church, Clyde. She was a homemaker and had previously worked as a bookkeeper for Joseph's Dept. Store in Fremont and on the family farm. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and watching the Cleveland Indians. Evelyn especially enjoyed her winters spent in Fort Myers Beach with her family and friends. Evelyn is survived by her three children, Debbie (Jim) Edwards of Vickery, Annette (Mike) Mavros of Clyde and Charles (Debbie) Dalton of Medina; six grandchildren, Andy, Mandy (Nick) Wilhelm; Ashleigh, Nicholas, Lauren and Troy; three great grandchildren, Hazel, Kyle and Nolan; sister Linda (Gerald Keegan of Fremont and brother Robert Downing of Vickery and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Dalton, whom she married September 17, 1955 and Betty Downing, her sister-in-law. Visitation will be on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 5-8:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. The funeral mass will be in Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Ed Schleter officiating. Burial will be in Parkhurst Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church of Stein Hospice.
