Eileen A. Parkhurst

Eileen A. Parkhurst, 86, of rural Fremont, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. She was born November 11, 1924 in Adams Township, Seneca County to the late Daniel John and Irma (Butz) Berger. Eileen was a member of Vickery United Methodist Church. She served in many capasities at the church. She was a member of the Riley Garden Club; Breezy Circle Farm Council; a 4-H advisor; and served on the Board of Elections as presiding judge in Riley Township. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1942. She had worked at the Clyde Cutlery, Mosier's Hatchery, and as a homemaker. On August 29, 1946 she married Thomas W. Parkhurst and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1997. Survivors include her children: Joan (Kenneth) Jahns of Fremont; David (Antoinette) Parkhurst of Clyde; Irene (Ronald) Wobser of Sandusky; Ruth (Russ) Zimmerman of Lindsey; James (Barbara) Parkhurst of Fremont; and Paul Parkhurst of Fremont; and grandchildren: Jeff, Emily, Eric, Katie, Ryan, Rachel, Seth, Jacob, and Megan.
