E. Gail (Compton) Rini Obituary (1938

Gail Rini, 82, of Clyde, died Monday, May 10, 2021 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She was born September 4, 1938 in Sandusky County to David & Edna (Gilbert) Compton. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1956, where she was class valedictorian, active in FHA (receiving her State Homemaker degree in 1955), and a member of National Honor Society. She graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology as a registered medical assistant in 1957. Gail was member of St Mary's Catholic Church. Always a vital, very active member of the Clyde community, Gail was a member of Clyde Women's Club, serving twice as President; chairperson of the Clyde Halloween Parade; secretary of St Mary's home and school; secretary of St Mary's school board; St. Mary's Parish Council; Cub Scout Den Mother; Clyde Green Springs Safety Village Board; recipient of the Golden Book of Deeds Award; Clyde BPA Distinguished Citizen Award (received jointly with her husband); Clyde BPA Woman of the Year Award; and a long time volunteer for the former Hospice of Memorial Hospital. On May 7, 1960 she married Dr. Anthony C. Rini. He preceded her in death June 1, 1999. Together they raised four children: Gail (Mark) Payne of Clyde; Anthony (Kandy) Rini of Lynchburg, Virginia; Eric (Missy) Rini of Pickerington, Ohio; Gary (Bridget) Rini of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Fourteen grandchildren: Erin, Dustin, Cassandra, Devani, Ethan, Katie, Sarah, Nathan, Garrett, Nick, Logan, Anya, Anastasia, Anthony; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her sister, Janet (Jerry) Cox of Florida also survive. In addition to her husband, Gail is preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Ralph Kistler. Visitation will be 2:00-7:00pm Friday, May 14, 2021 at Michell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main Street, Clyde. Her funeral mass will be 10:00am Saturday, May 15 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 609 Vine Street, Clyde with Rev. Ed Schleter officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church; Clyde Food Pantry; the hospice of your choice; or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
