Clyde "Chuck" Colvin Solander Obituary (1930

Clyde "Chuck" Colvin Solander, 90, of Fremont, died at Valleyview Health Care Center on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Chuck was born in Flat Rock, Ohio on May 19, 1930 to the now deceased Clyde and Katherine (Swartz) Solander. He graduated from the former Thompson High School, Bellevue. For many years he worked heavy construction. He had been the supervisor of the Ballville Township garage, also for many years. Mr. Solander was a member of Grace Community Church, Fremont. Known to be an experienced handyman and neighborhood helper, he knew no stranger or felt a challenge was to difficult. Chuck served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 15, 1954, he married Mary Ruth Leedy. She survives in Fremont, along with their three children, Charles L. "Chuck" (Shari) Solander of Monroeville; Sue (Uwe) Straube of Clyde and Michael (Linda) Solander of Fremont. Seven grandchildren, Charles B. "Chuck; Rachel; Ryan; Erika; Alyssa; Brent and Drew , along with seven great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Solander. Due to the health situation, private family services, with Pastor Kevin Pinkerton officiating, will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Those that wish to watch the service may do so by live streaming on a link here at the time of the service. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section of McPherson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Grace Community Church, Fremont.
