Charlottie Jane "Peaches" Evans Obituary (1930

Charlottie Jane "Peaches" (Dixon) Evans, 83, of Sandusky, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Evans was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio on Nov. 5, 1930 to the now deceased Walter E. and Virgie Mae (Huggins) Dixon. She attended Jefferson Union High School in Richmond, Ohio. In 1969, she moved to this area. Charlottie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Clyde; the Grandmother's Club Chapter 28; Vacationland Campers; Melody Makers and had been Pres. of the Privileges Ones Club. She was also a member of Rest Haven Golden Agers. On Dec. 6, 1963, she married Willis Clark Evans, he survives. Also surviving are children; Linda (Lars) Johansson, Akron; Ford (Mary Evans, Sandusky; Georgia Kay Clark, Haleyville, Ala; Erin (Charles) Leber, Clyde and Terry Smith, Lorain. A son-in-law, John Castello, Sandusky and siblings Andrew Robert (Pam) Smith, Jr., Richmond, Ohio; Joe (Betty) Dixon, Toronto, Ohio and Flora Elizabeth Rager, Mingo Juntion, Ohio also survive. Eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild are among the survivors. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Castello and sons - in-law, Jerry Smith and Charles Clark. Visitation will be on Mon.,July 28, 2014 from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. Officiating will be Rev. David Gowen, burial will be in Tew Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Flat Rock Children's Home or Erie Co. Senior Center on Water Street, Sandusky.
