Carolyn Mae Lovins, born on March 18, 1939 went to her eternal home on July 26,
2025.
Carolyn’s life on this Earth can be measured by her steadfast faith in her Lord and
Savior, and by her love and compassion for others. Her devotion to God was a
shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She enjoyed God’s creation and loved seeing His mighty works. From the majestic
mountains, to the smallest of animals, to the beautiful flowers her loving husband
planted for her. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, as well as the
many camping trips and cherished the fond memories that were made.
Her love of music was evident, whether she was stroking the ivory keys of the
piano, singing songs of worship with her beautiful voice, or attending southern
gospel concerts with her husband. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed having them over whether she was hosting family gatherings around the holidays or getting together to play boardgames or just having an impromptu cookout and bonfire. Carolyn had a warmth about her and a way of making you feel loved and special. You couldn’t help but love her and love to be around her. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. But we know that this is not the end.
Those who trust in Christ will be reunited with her again someday. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” -John 14: 1-4.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 68 years; Hal Lovins, and their
children, Deb Lovins, Tammy (Chris) Nearhood, Hal W. (Laura) Lovins. She is also
survived by her seven grandchildren; Tiffany, Shawn, Erik, Brittany, Ryan, Brook,
Skylar and her six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Louis and Fern Love and daughter Brenda Lovins.
