Bessie Lee (Kennison) Highlander

Bessie Lee Highlander, 87, of Vickery, died, Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron, OH.
She was born May 20, 1936 in Ravens Eye, WV to the late Elizabeth (Hall) and Russell C. Kennison. She worked for Foster Grant until 1978. She was a member of the Bellevue Missionary Baptist Church.
On August 1, 1953 she married Bobby E. Highlander, and he preceded her in death on July 17. 2019. Surviving are their children: Sarah (Don) Bayer; Carolyn (Geoff) Mees; Bobby (Robin) Highlander Jr.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Huddleston, Phyllis (Don) Snider, Joyce Davis; and three brothers, James Kennison, and Carl (Pat) Kennison.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bessie was preceded in death by her son, Joe and brother, Clarence Kennison
Visitation will be 9:00-11:00am Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Auxter Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1105 Castalia St, Bellevue. Her funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Jeremy Highlander officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.
