Barbara Stratton

Barbara Jean Stratton, 91, of Clyde, OH, passed away on October 15, 2025 in Hernando, FL. Barbara was born on January 14, 1934, in Clyde, OH, to Carlton and Ruth (Prouty) Smarage.

Barbara led a life of dedication and compassion, with her family and pets always at the heart of everything she did. She was a committed Press Operator at Whirlpool for 25 years, where her adventurous spirit and hardworking nature were admired by all. Her love for cooking was only surpassed by the joy she got from spending quality time with her loved ones. She was a proud member of the Clyde American Legion. Barbara especially loved her birds, dogs, and cats, who brought her immense joy and companionship.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Nora Stratton of Fremont, OH, and Janet Bloomberg of Hernando, FL; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Ruth Smarage, and her daughters, Carol Overmeyer and Thalia Huffman.

Private family services will be held at a later date, with burial in McPherson Cemetery, Clyde, OH. Memorial contributions in honor of Barbara may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
